Program Overview
The Vesta School E-bike Safety Certification Program is designed to educate students, staff, and parents on the safe operation of E-bikes while ensuring that the E-bikes used in and around school zones meet rigorous safety standards. This program integrates E-bike education, road rules, road signs/markings eduction, and safety and awareness education to promote responsible riding and hopefully prevent accidents among young riders.
School and District event and certification co-branding is available and as noted below, Vesta will donate 10% of all proceeds to the schools PTA (as allowed by law).
Program Objectives
Educate students on E-bike traffic laws, proper riding techniques, and helmet use.
Certify school-permitted e-bikes/riders through our education and testing program.
Not only does the course promote a culture of safe riding habits at all times, but valuable education of riding within school zones and communities as well.
Vesta collaborates with local and national authorities, parents, and teachers to enhance e-bike safety awareness.
Program Components
We contract with both individual schools and school board to offer in person training, education and testing (testing can be either online or in person via computer or a paper exam) and our robust curriculum and exams will result in a higher level of education, awareness and confidence for riders of all ages.
Riders will be educated on traffic rules, road signs and markings, helmet and safe riding gear use, pre-ride inspections, and defensive riding techniques.
We will provide hands-on demonstrations on braking, turning, and maintaining visibility as well. Our course will also train riders and parents on proper e-bike battery handling and fire safety precautions.
Course Completion and Yearly Renewals
At the successful completion of our course, riders will be provided with a Certificate of Completion and a Certified Safe Ride Badge for easy identification of compliant E-bikes that meet the schools requirements. The thorough process takes approximately 2 hours from start to finish for the initial certification.
Each year, riders will be required to take a condensed version of the course for the school year applicable and they will receive the same Certificate of Completion and a Certified Safe Ride Badge for easy identification of compliant E-bikes that meet the schools requirements.
School Safe Ride Zones & Infrastructure
Our program will be tailored to your school's process by identifying and or establishing designated parking areas and safe riding lanes.
Parent & Teacher Engagement
With our program and in person sessions, it allows for a valuable avenue for parents, teachers and school administrators to discuss E-bike safety concerns and questions.
E-Bike Safety Challenge
Our in person course provides a fun and engaging event where students learn valuable E-bike safety tools, but we also have fun competitions with prizes for for students to participate with.
Why Schools Should Join?
Reduce the number of E-bike-related accidents among students at your school, while promoting responsible, law-abiding riders from a young age. This will also improve traffic safety within and around school zones. There is an added benefit of building a collaborative approach with parents, teachers, and local authorities.
Vesta PTA Giving Back Program
For every school and district that takes part in our program, Vesta will donate 10% of all proceeds from the event to the schools PTA, within the legal limits allowed. This program is a WIN WIN for all parties involved.
